What is Charcot Foot?
Charcot Foot is a condition that affects diabetic individuals, a development of almost or complete numbness in the foot or ankle. Peripheral Neuropathy causes nerve damage in the feet and lower legs. This condition progresses to the extent that it weakens, fractures, or dislocates the bones and joints in the ankle and feet. A collapsed foot may result in deformations that can develop into ulcers. This can lead to infections and if untreated may require an amputation.
