The First U.S. Clinical Guidelines for Tibial Cortex Transverse Transport

We’re proud to share that Dr. Gan Golshteyn and Dr. Emmy Oji have co-authored the first U.S. case series detailing the use of Tibial Cortex Transverse Transport (TCTT) for complex diabetic foot ulcers. Their article, published in Foot & Ankle Surgery: Techniques, Reports & Cases, shows the practical surgical guidelines, step-by-step technique, and a comprehensive postoperative protocol.

Key Findings

  • High Success Rate: 12 of 13 patients (92.3%) achieved complete ulcer healing at an average follow-up of 5.3 months.
  • Enhanced Perfusion: 77% of patients showed significant increases in distal limb blood flow on follow-up imaging.
  • Low Complication Profile: No deep infections, hardware failures, or tibial fractures were reported; minor pin-site infections occurred in only 30% of cases and resolved with oral antibiotics.
